Just had a surgery to your nose? After rhinoplasty, the next day you will probably have to face a splint on your nose and possibly with packing inside it. Packing is the most troublesome aspect of the procedure. There will be many stitched in the various incisions in the nose.
In some cases, there is a small incision in the tissue between your nostrils. The cartilage in your nose, and often the bones, may have been carved apart.
There are a number of things you should follow once you had Rhinoplasty:
• For a day or two, drink liquids and only soft food. Liquid will keep your mouth from drying up. Avoid eating hot liquids or hot food. You may get back to your normal diet the second day after your surgery.
• Do not put pressure on your nose, avoid heavy lifting, straining or vigorous housework. Do not bump your nose.
• Always keep your mouth clean. You may brush your teeth smoothly with brush that has soft bristles. The next day of surgery you can wipe your front teeth gently with a clean washcloth. You may rinse your mouth with mouthwash after each meal, but do not gargle.
• You can also use a cool air supply in your room, especially at night.
• Change your nasal sling as needed. Do not move your upper lip too much when changing your sling.
• Do not insert anything into your nose. While sneezing, open your mouth and sneeze naturally.
